Biography

Joseph Makkar is an American actor based in Los Angeles. His career began in 1986 with Down and Out in Beverly Hills — Walt Disney Studios’ first R-rated picture — and now spans four decades and more than sixty union-covered credits across film and television.

Recent television includes The Terminal List: Dark Wolf (Prime Video) as Hamid Al-Jabouri, SEAL Team, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, and a recurring role on Hulu’s Reasonable Doubt. His film work ranges from Executive Decision, G.I. Jane, and The Siege to 13 Hours, X-Men: Apocalypse, and Marvel’s Eternals, with featured voice-over on Gladiator and decades of ADR and loop-group work, including the Call of Duty franchise.

A graduate of the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, Makkar is also a screenwriter — original features Braided Line and Daughter of the Sun — and an owner-operator filmmaker shooting on a Blackmagic URSA Mini 4.6K cinema package. He is a member of SAG-AFTRA.
